You can open or import an entire Photoshop file, and you can copy and paste, or drag and drop text from a Photoshop file into the current Fireworks document.
If you want to use only certain words or characters from another file and don't mind losing the ability to edit the text, use drag and drop or copy and paste. The text will come in as pixels and will not be editable as text.
If you want the text to be editable as text, open or import the whole file.
Note: The text layer retains its name.
